CantoneseOnline, its editors, and its instructors would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the victims of the tragic earthquake which took place on May 12th in Sichuan (or Szechuan) Province in China as well as those here in New York City who may have relatives or friends. The death toll has now surpassed 60,000 in what is one of the most shocking earthquakes in the past 40 years anywhere in the world. Though Sichuan and the other provinces affected are not next to Guangdong province, we stand with other Chinese and anyone else who has suffered in the recent weeks. The following links will give more information about the earthquake as well as ways you can help.
